RIP Leslie Nielsen, tribute…

I was very sad to hear yesterday that Leslie Nielsen had died so I felt compelled to write a tribute post in honour of his memory and all the people he made laugh.

Here are a few quotes from his movies…

Frank Drebin: How are the children?
Jane Spencer: We didn’t have any children.
Frank Drebin: Yes, of course.
Jane Spencer: How was your prostate operation?
Frank Drebin: Oh, good. Fine. Never been better.

Frank tries to find whether boxer Buddy Briggs can beat The Champ
Frank Drebin: Now do you think you can beat The Champ?
Buddy: I can take him blindfolded.
Frank Drebin: What if he’s not blindfolded?
Buddy: I can still beat him.

Jane climbs a ladder
Frank: Nice beaver!
Jane: [producing a stuffed beaver] Thank you. I just had it stuffed.

Frank Drebin: Like a midget at a urinal, I was going to have to stay on my toes.

Frank Drebin: Like a blind man at an orgy, I was going to have to feel my way through.

Great Swedish Vampire movie…

Does that sound like a strange notion? Well check this movie out and see what I mean. There’s a lot of buzz around the internet for this movie. Great adaptation of the book of the same name by John Ajvide Lindqvist. Directed by Tomas Alfredson.

All time favourite fight scene…

This fight scene from Oldboy (2003) has got to be one of the best. The concept of shooting one long scene from the side view is a master stroke by Park Chan-wook. If you haven’t seen the movie then check it out soon before the ill-fated Spielberg remake is released and Hollywood ruins yet another masterpiece.
